Once upon a marketing plan, there lived a term. This term was often the center of attention and almost always part of conversations about marketing strategies and objectives. People would fantasize about this term, hoping and dreaming for it in great quantities.
One of history’s greatest thinkers sat on trial for encouraging his students to challenge the accepted beliefs of the time and think for themselves. It was during this trial that Socrates uttered the words quoted at the head of this post.

One of the big challenges marketers in the process of incorporating social media into their marketing mix face is that of using it effectively and appropriately. Far too often, a plan to adopt social media practices involves using social media channels to push marketing messages out into the world as though it were another advertising medium.
One way to simplify something complex is to compare it to something else. In other words, make a metaphor. Take the brain, for instance. It’s a complex lump of gray matter inside the skull that humans have been wrestling with for millennia.
